Originally introduced by René Lalique in 1934, this Art Deco design is recognized by its stylized, undulating serpentine border alternating between textured, feathered patterns and raised, clear, polished cabochon "orbs".
While originally produced as a cendrier (ashtray), it is widely utilized today as a multipurpose decorative accent:
